Guy Clive's was the nephew of Lord Robert Clive, the British leader in the early wars with India.
Guy had perfected a number of mechanical devices, chiefly toys, and had been taking steps toward securing patents on these inventions prior to his death.
He never married or had children but was loved deeply by his mother who resided in England. Guy died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, having been depressed and addicted to headache powder.
