Ruby was the second of five (5)
children born to Arthur Stewart,
and Frances "Fannie"
Blount-Stewart[Batchelor],
in Macon, Bibb, Georgia.

She was grand-daughter of Howard and
Sarah Wallace-Stewart, and Joseph and
MaryLou Lomax-Blount, of Roberts,
Jones, Georgia.

Ruby's siblings are:
Lois (Stewart) Daniels, Louise Stewart,
Annie (Stewart) Smith,
William (Bill) Stewart, Oscar L.
Batchelor, Mitchell P Batchelor, and
Verla Mae (Batchelor) Marks.

She received her education in the
Detroit Public School System,
graduating from Hamtramck High
School in 1936.

She was united in marriage to
William Sims in Detroit, a marriage
that lasted 37 years. To this union
one (1) child was born, Garey L. Sims.

Ruby was a loving and devoted
housewife and mother. She had an
extremely caring spirit that extended
to everyone she encountered. She
took care of many elderly persons who
she had known since childhood and
that were friends to her parents
during her youth, and throughout her
life. That's just the kind of person
she was. She always seemed to selflessly
put everyone else before herself.

Our fondest memories of Aunt Ruby
was her quiet & loving nature, and
the fact she was a tremendous cook,
making the best pies from scratch
that ever melted in your mouth! :-)

She was an active member of Corinthian
Missionary Baptist Church her entire
life. Ruby chose to go home to the
Lord on the date of her passing.

She leaves to mourn, husband William Sims,
son, Garey Leonard Sims.

She leaves to treasure her memory
with love, & rejoice in having
known her; siblings Lois Daniels (Wayman), William Stewart (Ida), Annie (Stewart) Smith, Oscar Batchelor (Carolyn), Mitchell Batchelor (Marie), Verla Mae Marks (Melvin), multiple nieces, nephews, cousins, and host of other relatives and dear friends.
