Obituary published in the Naples News May 1904 -

Adams Underwood, formerly of this place, died very suddenly at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Fisher Clark, near Stanley, Thursday, May 12, aged 73. He had been out in the field with his son-in-law during the forenoon, came in ate a hearty dinner, he lay down and expired almost immediately.

He leaves besides his heart-broken wife, two sons, Alvin, of Middlesex, Stephen of Seneca Castle; two daughters Mrs. James Kennedy of Geneva, and Mrs. Fisher Clark, of Stanley, Thirteen grand-children and a host of friends here, also at the place where he has lived for the past few years. The funeral was held at his old home in Middlesex on Sunday, Rev. S. S. Mead, officiating. A touching and sympathetic was read at the funeral from a former pastor of the deceased, Rev. J. D. Smith of Kanona, N. Y. The casket was covered with a profusion of beautiful flowers. A large number gathered at the home to pay their last respects to a well loved friend and neighbor. The remains were laid to rest in the cemetery at Overackers to wait the resurrection morning. The family have the sympathy of all in their bereavement.
