George Kahler died at 9:30 o'clock Tuesday night at the home of his son, Michael, No. 116 South Arch street, of infirmities due to his advanced age of seventy-nine years and from the effects of a stroke or paralysis of last Christmas. Mr. Kahler was born in Germany. He came to the United States about fifty-four years ago and had been a resident of Lancaster almost that entire time except seven years that he resided in Millersville. He was a cigar maker, but for the past ten years he had been employed by the city street department. His wife, who was Miss Mary Miller before marriage, has been deceased fifteen years. He was a member of St. Luke's Reformed Church. He is survived by the following children: Michael, city; Mary, of Philadelphia' Mrs. Elizabeth Stout, city; Mrs. Barbara Swenk, Mrs. Rose Yundt, Catharine, Charles and Nicholas, all at home.
