Cathern "Kitty" Parker, 90, Shelbyville, died Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at Hannibal Regional Hospital, Hannibal.
She was born November 17, 1921, in Owanka, South Dakota, the daughter of John Andrew and Murrille Brassfield Hoffman. She married Dean Parker in Yuma, AZ on August 22, 1942. He died on August 13, 1990.
Survivors include two children; Linda Kay Dye and husband Gary, Hot Springs Village, AR and Ronald Dean Parker and wife Kathy, Henderson, NV; two grandchildren, Tracy Glowicki and Melissa Lawson; five great-grandchildren, Joshua, Jacob, and Mathew Lawson; Bethany Grace and John Mark Glowicki; and one step great-grandchild, Shelby; three sisters, Leah Hoffman, Anchorage, AK, Marguerite Bell, LaMesa, CA, and Shirley Williams, Shelbina.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, Melvin, Richard and Robert Hoffman.
Mrs. Parker attended high school in California and was a member of the Shelbyville Christian Church. She was active in the Rebekah Lodge and Lucky Friday Extension Club. She enjoyed people and playing cards with her friends. She loved her house on the lake.
Funeral services were Saturday, June 2, 11:00 a.m. at the Shelbyville Christian Church, Shelbyville with Darian Catron officiating. Burial was at Shelby Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation was Friday evening at the Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Shelbina.
