Mrs. William Rouse, relict of the late Hon. William Rouse, died Friday evening at her late residence on Franklin street in this city. She was a life-long resident of Jefferson -county, having been born in Rodman in 1811. She was the daughter of the late Abram Green and the youngest of eleven children. Her first marriage was to Volney Ballard, in the town of her birth, in 1841. He died in 1847. Four children were born to them, viz.: Thomas T., of Antwerp; Volney B., of Langdon, Kansas: Anna M.. wife of Clytus Shepard, Pamelia, and Addie L. Ballard, of this city. In 1873 the deceased married Hon. William
Rouse, who died here in 1885, at the advanced age of 91 years. She was a faithful and consistent member of the Methodist Episcopal church for more than 60 years. Her heroic efforts In keeping her family together and caring for them has always been a matter of favorable comment by all who were conversant with the circumstances.
