ADOLF HAVEL PASSES AWAY
It is our solemn duty to chronicle the death of one of the early settlers of this county. Adolf Havel passed away at his home in Cuba Tuesday evening. The deceased was 63 years, 9 months and 15 days at the time of his departure.
The deceased was born in Hronim Stupne, Austria-Hungary on May 31, 1851, where he grew to manhood. In the year 1874 he was united in marriage to Miss Anna Kluna, at the place of his birth. To this union were born 13 children, one of whom having departed this life in 1904.
Four years after their marriage he came with his wife to America and settled on a farmstead 3 miles east and 2 1/2 south of this city, of Cuba, Kansas. Here he resided for 19 years, after which he moved to a farm one mile west of the homestead and resided there until 6 years ago, when he moved to this city.
After being confined to his home for three weeks on account of sickness Mr. Havel passed away Tuesday March 16, 1915. The funeral will be held at the residence in this city. Interment will be at the Kopsa Cemetery southeast of Cuba, Kansas.
He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife, 12 children, 9 boys and 3 girls, all of whom are residents of this community with the exception of Edward who lives at Chester, Mont.
