Jake Benton, Sr., a retired pastor and native of Baton Rouge, died Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at age 70.

Visiting at Bethany World Prayer Center North, Baker, until service, conducted by Pastor Ken Ellis. Interment in Bethany Cemetery. Arrangements by Winnfield Funeral Home.

Survived by his wife, Willie Lee Benton; daughters, Kara Benton Jones and Tonya Michelle Brown; son, Jake Benton Jr.; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Benton Sr. and Vella Mason Benton.
