Mrs. Mary Ruth Myrick, age 82, of Florence, passed away Saturday, Oct. 28, 2006, at her residence.
She was a member of Petersville Church of Christ and retired from the City of Florence, Bradshaw cafeteria.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 30, 2006, at Greenview Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2006, in Petersville Church of Christ, with burial to follow in Milners Chapel Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church one hour before service. Officiating at the service will be James Farris and Sonny Owens.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Benjamin and Mary Elizabeth Abernathy, three sister and three brothers.
Mrs. Myrick is survived by her husband, Cecil Myrick; sons, Billy Myrick (Carolyn), Cecil Myrick Jr., (Judy), Dwayne Myrick (Linda); daughters, Brenda McCain (Dwight), Martha Atkinson (Butch); brothers, Eli Abernathy, Tommy Lee Abernathy, R.H. Abernathy, Gene Ed Abernathy; sisters, Virginia Frazier and Betty Marks; 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Anthony Arnold, Brian Myrick, Jason Myrick, John Fulmer, Harold Myrick and Clark Blackburn.
