1st Lieutenant James Berry's Company was in Col. Robert H. Dyer's Regiment of Cavalry and Mounted Gunmen of Tennessee Volunteers. Mustered into service and appointed on March 1, 1814. Killed on March 27, 1814 at Battle of Horseshoe Bend (Tohopeka). Though family records suggest that Lt. Berry was buried at Fort Williams, it is possible his body was buried in the Coosa River adjacent to the battleground
