Michael arrived in Canada July 22, 1897 with his second wife, Sofia (nee Drewniak) and two children, Anna and Maria. Other children, Michael, John, Stefan (twin) , Tekla(twin) and Paulina were born in Manitoba.

Probing Death of Mike Lepischuk
Provincial Constable Miller is making an investigation of the shooting of Mike Lepischuk who died at the General Hospital on Saturday. The story as received to date is to the effect that Lepischuk picked up a gun which was standing in the corner of a blacksmith shop. He did not know it was loaded and he received the load in the leg. Blood poisoning set in, and death followed. The body is now lying in Bardal's morgue, awaiting a burial certificate, which cannot be given until after the investigation .
