DIES AFTER A SHORT ILLNESS
Ill only a few days, George Stanley Weier (sic) a resident of Two Rivers more
than a half century, died in the Municipal hospital here at 1 o'clock this
morning. He was removed to the hospital Friday morning when his illness became
acute. He was 55 years old.
Funeral services will be held at Sacred Heart church at 9 o'clock Tuesday
morning, with the Rev. John S. Landowski officiating.. Interment will be in
Holy Cross cemetery. The remains can be viewed at the C.J. Jansky funeral home
tonight from where the body will be taken to the home at 1905 Emmet street
Sunday afternoon.
The deceased was born in Poland, May 2, 1880, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs.
John Weier who immigrated to this country and settled on a farm on the Rangeline,
town of Two Rivers when the deceased was two years old. About 34 years ago he
was married at Newton to Miss Josephine Dropka of that place, the couple making
their home in this city. Mrs. Weier died in 1907. Twenty-eight years ago he was
married to Miss Teckla Bialkowski of Newton, who survives him.
Survivors
For the past 13 years the deceased was employed at the Eggers Veneer Seating
company, and previously worked at the old pail factory, the Aluminum Goods Co.
and the Hamilton Manufacturing company.
Besides his widow, Mr. Weier leaves a daughter, Miss Marion at home, and three
sons, Ben and Michael, both of this city, and Stanley at home. He also leaves
three sisters, Mrs. Matt Polich of the town of Two Rivers, Mrs. Pauline Scharwark
of Waupun and Mrs. Stanley Korbowski of this city, six brothers, John and Anton
of Saginaw, Mich., Joseph and Albert of Milwaukee, Frank of Deerfield, Wis., and
Jacob Weier of Menominee, Mich., and two grandchildren.
He was a member of the Polish Roman Catholic Union of America.
