Sara Groves Carter, 82, of Waynesburg, died Saturday, November 11, 1995, in Bartlett, Ill.

She was born January 3, 1913, in Waynesburg, a daughter of Charles P. and Ella Minton Groves.

Mrs. Carter was a 1932 graduate of Waynesburg High School. She was a retired salesclerk, having worked for Berryman's Dress Shop, JoAnn's and several other Waynesburg stores.

Mrs. Carter resided most of her life in Waynesburg and spent 40 years in Nineveh.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Waynesburg.

Surviving are one son, Charles Michael Carter of Bartlett, Ill.; one stepgranddaughter, Laren Ashley Tunison; and two grandsons, Christopher Michael Carter and Ryan Cameron Carter.

Deceased are one sister, Louise Groves; and her husband, John Black Carter, who died May 25, 1977.

CARTER -- Friends of Sara Groves Carter of Waynesburg, PA, who died Saturday, November 11, 1995, will be received in Behm Funeral Home, with the Rev. David L. Barrett officiating. Interment in Greene County Memorial Park.
