FAIRBURY -- (PNS) -- Mrs. Christina Kafer Bachtold of Charsowrth Township died at 6 p.m. (CDT) Saturday at her home. Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the residence and at 10 a.m. at the South Apostolic Church.
She was born June 28, 1878, daughter of John and Christina Schwartzwalder Kafer, at Erdmannsweiler, Baden, Germany and came to the United States in 1900. She was married to Gustav Bachtrold in Pontiac. They lived in Cropsey and Strawn and for the past 24 years on the farm near Forrest.
Surviving are her husband, and the following children: Roy and Arthur, Chatsworth; Benjamin and Walter, Strawn; Herman, Peoria; Elmer David, Fairbury; Mrs. Nelli Geiger, Tusa, brothers, Andrew Hafer, Germany, and Chris Hafer, Bloomington.
A sister and a brother preceded her in death.
