Mrs. Herman Woelfel, 61, N5706 Highway 57, Hilbert, died Sunday, January 19, at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac.
The former Marcella Ann Schneider, she was born April 27, 1924, in the town of Rantoul, a daughter of the late William and Margaret Seipel Schneider.
On April 19, 1944, she married Herman J. Woelfel at St. Mary Catholic Church in Chilton.
She had farmed with her husband in the town of Chilton all her married life.
She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Hilbert, its Christian Mothers and the Catholic Knights.
Survivors include her husband; eight daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Linda) Frisch, Cleveland; Mrs. Richard (Karen) Sohrweide, Mrs. Glen (Rita) Jandrey, Mrs. Mike (Doris) Bennin and Mrs. John (Gladys) Michels, all of Chilton; Mrs. Don (Lois) Schroeder and Mrs. Fritz (Faye) Wollersheim, both of New Holstein, and Mrs. Joseph (Sandy) Schumacher, Hilbert; five sons and a daughter-in-law; Eugene and Pat Woelfel, Hilbert; Donald Paul, John, all of Hilbert; and Dale, Fond du Lac; 21 grandchildren; five sisters; Mrs. Isadore (Anita) Ruhland, Hilbert; Mrs. Anton (Amanda) Schuler, Valders; Mrs. Gene (Ann) Becker, Kansas City, Missouri; Mrs. Jerome (Eleanor) Woelfel, New Holstein; Mrs. Herman (Gertrude) Riesterer, Kiel; four brothers; Gilbert and William A. Schneider, both of Chilton; Msgr. Alfred A. Schneider, Manitowoc; and Henry Schneider, Hilbert.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Diane, and a granddaughter, Shelly Woelfel.
A funeral Mass was celebrated Wednesday at St. Mary Catholic Church, with The Rev. Msgr. Alfred Schneider, the Rev. Wilbert Buhl and the Rev. Anton Birdsall as concelebrants.
