Immigrated to the United States in 1904. Married Catherine Whalen in 1907. They had four children: Ellen, James, Hannah and Eileen.

Butte Gazette (Butte, Nebraska), February 20, 1941:

"Funeral services were held from Sts. Peter & Paul's church in Butte Wednesday morning for John Doyle, of Palmer, Nebraska, and internment was made in the local cemetery.

Mr. Doyle lived near Naper for about thirty years and only about a year ago moved with the family to near Palmer, Nebraska. The family had been well known in the county and Mr. Doyle had a host of friends here who were greatly saddened to learn of his death.

Mr. Doyle had been in poor health for the past two years, but his condition was not considered critical until after he was taken to a Grand Island hospital, a couple of weeks previous to his death. Treatment in the hospital was given for heart trouble, but was without avail as the chronic trouble was combined with the influenza and other complications. He passed away Sunday, February 16th, at the age of 64 years, five months and seven days.

He is survived by his wife, two daughters, Hannah and Eileen, and a son, James, besides more distant relatives. On daughter, Miss Ellen Patricia (sic), preceded him in death about ten years ago."
