William Curnow, age 86, of Delaware Water Gap, passed away on December 18, 2012, at Manor Care in Easton, PA. He was the husband of the late Margaret Draper (Cross) Curnow; they were married June 17, 1950, in the East Stroudsburg United Methodist Church with the Rev. Clifford V. Cross, father of the bride, performing the ceremony. Born October 4, 1926, in Old Forge, PA., he was the son of the late William A. and Martha (Williams) Curnow. He was a 1944 graduate of Taylor High School in Taylor, PA. After graduation he enlisted in the Army Air Force and served in Asia, where he participated in the occupation of Japan. After he left the service he attended Keystone Junior College and then graduated from Penn State University with a degree in accounting. He was a resident of Stroudsburg from 1952 until 1971, when he moved to Rhode Island. In 2005 he and his wife moved to Delaware Water Gap. Prior to his retirement he was employed as an accountant for the Mahar Center in Newport, Rhode Island. Prior to that and while living in Stroudsburg, he was an accountant for Hughes Printing in East Stroudsburg, Ronson Corp. of Delaware Water Gap, and Collins and Aikman in Pen Argyl. Bill loved his family. He was an avid genealogist, gardener, photographer, and appreciator of fine music. His family and friends enjoyed his keen sense of humor. Bill is survived by his four daughters, Karyl L. Paolino and her companion James R. MacIntosh of Warwick, RI, Cynthia Curnow Armstrong and her husband Robert of Crozet, VA, Susan Curnow Wilson and her husband Martin of Delaware Water Gap, and Amy Bewley of Warwick, RI. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters, Ruth Hill and Adeline Holliday and one great grandson, Giovanni J. Pyatt. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 22 at 1:00 pm at the Presbyterian Church of the Mountain, Delaware Water Gap.
