Funeral of Mrs. Saint
The funeral of Mrs. Matilda Saint, colored, aged 97 years, a one-time slave in the Davis family of near Buckeystown, who died on Saturday morning at the home of Charles Goins, colored, West All Saints' street, took place yesterday afternoon at 3 o'clock from Quinn church, of which she was a member.
The aged woman retained her faculties until almost the very last. It is is claimed that her exact age is 97 years 2 months and 11 days, and members of the Davis family have attested to this fact. Thirteen years ago she decided to prepare for her death, and a tombstone was erected in Laboring Sons cemetery, which has been standing there ever since, all the inscriptions being complete with the exception of the age and date of death.
