James, age 70 years, passed away at home on Sunday, June 16, 2013. He was born on July 11, 1942 to Albert F. and Violet (DeWerth) Deckert in Lakewood, Ohio. Jim married Pamela Ann Kuebler in Cleveland, Ohio on May 20, 1972. He worked for AT&T for many years before retiring in 1997. His hobbies were amateur radio operator, woodworking and electronics. He served his country in the US Air Force from 1960 thru 1966.
Jim is survived by his wife Pamela Ann; his daughter Jennifer Ann (Jason) Richmond and grandkids Brendan, Owen and Cooper; his son James "Bear" Albert (Jeanie) Deckert II and grandkids Laiken and Carson; his sister Susan Kreke. He was preceded by his parents.
His funeral service will take place on Thursday, June 20, 2013 at 2:00 PM at the R. O. Savage Funeral Chapel in Standish, Michigan with Pastor Kathleen Rowe presiding. Visitation will be at the chapel on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Thursday from 11:00 AM until service time.
