MOUNT CARMEL - Henry C. Franklin, 69, 523 Walnut Street, Mount Carmel, died at 3 a.m. Tuesday ( Oct. 5, 1993 ) at his resi­dence after a brief illness.

Born in Gate City , Va. , he lived most of his life in Kingsport . He retired from Tennessee Eastman Company in the re­search laboratory in 1984 after 42 years service.

Mr. Franklin attended West Ridge Presbyterian Church in Mount Carmel and was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James T. and Pearl V. Blair Franklin; two sisters, Virginia Williams and Zelia Fleenor; four brothers, Walker Frank­lin, Eugene Franklin, Elmer Franklin and Carl Franklin.

Calling hours are from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at East Lawn Funeral Home.

Services will be conducted at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday in the funer­al home chapel with the Rev. Joe W. Byrd and the Rev. Claude Lane officiating.

Nephews will serve as pall­bearers.

Graveside services will be con­ducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at East Lawn Memorial Park .

Memorial contributions may be made to the West Ridge Presbyterian Church in Mount Carmel .
