MRS. J. BOTELHO, 75, DIES; RESIDENT OF ISLANDS 49 YEARS
Mrs. Jacintha Botelho, wife of Manuel de Mello Botelho, of 2312 Pauoa road, died at her home at 4:05 o'clock yesterday afternoon after an illness of seven weeks. Services will be held at 3 o'clock this afternoon at Borthwick's establishment, burial to be in the Nuuanu cemetery. Mrs. Bothelo was born in the Island of St. Michael, Azores, Portugal, in 1853, and arrived in Hawaii in 1879 at the age of 26. She was 75 years old and made her home in these Islands the last 49 years. Surviving her are the husband, and the following children: Mrs. M. G. Clement, Honolulu; Joseph de Mello, Kohala, Hawaii; Antonio, John, Alfred, and Henry de Mello, and Mrs. Manuel Medeiros and Mrs. Charles Nelson, Honolulu, and Mrs. E. Shockey, San Francisco. She also leaves 31 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Charles G. Clement, linotype operator of The Printshop, is one of the grandchildren.
