Cause of death: dropsy.

Son of Manuel DeMello Botelho and Jacinta Rosa Dias. They emigrated from San Miguel in the Azores off the coast of Portugal between Sep 1878 (1st child born in Azores) and Sep 1879 (2nd child born in the Kingdom of Hawaii).

Born in North Kohala, third of nine children.

Married Louisa Canno at Halawa Catholic Church in North Kohala on 25 Dec 1906.

He was the father of 13 (11 lived) and worked on a sugar plantation in Kohala, and as an overseer at a pineapple plantation on Lanai.
Cause of death: dropsy.
