T. Bruner Carter, 73, 744 Gleasman Road, died at 7:33 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 25, 1980, in Rockford Memorial Hospital after a short illness.

Born Sept. 5, 1907, in Greenville, Tenn., son of Mr. and Mrs. H.E. Carter. Lived 55 years in Rockford, coming here from Greenville, Tenn. Married to the former Leona Sofer in Rockford, Sept. 6, 1952. Employed as a latthe operator by Hydro-Line Manufacturing Co. for 13 years, retiring June 1, 1973. Veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. Member of Roscoe United Methodist Church; also charter member, past president and life member of the Northern Illinois Coon and Fox Hunters.

Survivors include his wife, Leona; two daughters, Grace L. Gass and Pat Carlson, both of Rockord; a son, John B. Carter, Fort Worth, Texas; four sisters, Mrs. Polly Estes, Nunda, N.Y., Mrs. Hassie L. Lemming and Mrs. Monte Hunt, both of Greenville and Mrs. Pat Hume, Florence, Ky.; four brothers, Paul Carter, Rockton, Ned Carter, Roscoe, and Benton and Joe Carter, both of Rockford; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents and three brothers.

Services at 3 p.m. Monday, Dec. 29, in Roscoe United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Tom C. Harmon officiating. Burial in Roscoe Cemetery.
