Mrs. Jane E. Colville
Mrs. Jane E. Colville, 98, who made her home here with a daughter, Mrs. Charles Clements, 1140 Forest avenue, died at 10 p.m. Monday following an invalidism of the past six years, brought on by a fracture of the hip.
Jane Elder, daughter of Charles Elder and Ann Crichton was born April 16, 1845, in Inchture, Perthshire, Scotland, and was married June 17, 1870, to William Colville in Dundee, where the couple lived until 1883 when they moved to Traer, Ia.
They later moved to Cedar Falls where she lived until her husband's death in 1933, when she came to Waterloo.
She was a member of the United Presbyterian church here.
Survivors include three sons--William E., Miami, Fla.; Charles S., Waterloo, and John E., Cedar Falls; and five daughters--Mrs. John Staveley, Van Nuys, Cal.; Mrs. Anna Prior, Cedar Falls; Mrs. Lyman Nelson, Kanawha, Ia.; Mrs. E.E. Mattingly, Cedar Falls, and Mrs. Charles Clements, Waterloo.
There are also 30 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and nine great great grandchildren. Her husband and two children preceded her in death.
The body has been taken to Peterson Brothers funeral home.
