The fale to begin at 12 o'clock, precifely. Thomas Whittington, Executor. Published in the 12 Feb 1789 issue.

January 22, 1790. THE fubfcriber hereof having difpofed of all the real and perfonal property of THOMAS WHITTINGTON, late of Anne-Arundel county, deceafed, agreeable to law, and finds that there is not a fufficiency of affets to difcharge every claim, this is to requeft all perfon or perfons, who have heretofore made their claims known to him in writing, to bring in their accounts lawfully and properly attefted and authenticated between this and the 28th day of February next, in order that they may receive or fettle for their equal dividend of the faid eftate. No account after that day will be admiffible. THOMAS WHITTINGTON, Executor. 4 Feb 1790, The Maryland Gazette.

Winona Whittington Pfander's book called The Whittington-Brown Book, 1066-1965, 1965, published by the author in Peoria, IL, unnumbered, says person #42 (Source lists few documents, has errors, so verify ALL details): "THOMAS WHITTINGTON of Ann Arundel Co., MD, son of William (40), first noted in the records by his marriage to Wilhelmina Powell in 1754. She was the daughter of John Powell of Anne Arundel Co., who in his will dated May 28, 1745, devised to her one third of the land called Gorey or Gory Banks situated in Ann Arundel Co., MD. (The other two thirds was to be divided between the widow and the eldest daughter, Elizabeth Powell.) In 1755 Thomas and Wilhelmina Whittington sold one hundred acres of Gory Banks and purchased Maidstone where they built their Dwelling house and where they lived until the death of each. This part of the land - Maidstone - lay along the main branch of Hall's Creek and became the property of their eldest son John after the death of Wilhelmina who survived her husband. Thomas and Wilhelmina Powell Whittington were named in his will as were John, Thomas, Benjamin, Catherine, Ann Elizabeth, and Wilhelmina. Thomas Whittington was referred to as "Planter," meaning one who developed the land and/or his business. He farmed the land, Gory Banks, his wife's inheritance, and purchased Maidstone which became the Family Dwelling Home through three succeeding generations. He was also a Public Accountant, and Bondsman. Lib. 47, Fol. 42, Calvert Co., Anne Arundel Co. Lib. 36, Fol. 180, 1755. He signed his will on May 17, 1783. It was probated "Feb 9," (sic) 1786. final account 1788. He gave one half of his land containing Maidstone "where my Dwelling house stands" to his eldest son, John. Thomas the second son received the other half of the land containing all of Gory Banks, his wife's inheritance from her father, and that part of the other land upon which is the "new house I am now building". John and Thomas were to pay Benjamin, the third son, one hundred and seventy-seven pounds "in lieu of one third of my land". To his four daughters he gave one cow, one mare or horse, and sow, and two ewes, the customary dowery which a girl brought to her husband. These daughters of Thos and Wilhelmina were soon to marry - as these marriage records show: Wilhelmina married Wm Arminges (sic), Feb 6, 1781, by license; Catherine married Horatio Mead, Calvert Co., Feb 3, 1784; Ann married Benjamin Bashford, Ann Arundel County, 1788; Elizabeth married Benjamin Baden, Baltimore Co., Jan 30, 1793."

I suspect Thomas and his wife were both logically buried some where, on his large "Maidstone" estate, which would stay in the family for generations. He was assessed property taxes only 3 years earlier. He lived in the older dwelling, that he left to his son, John. No documentation, nor old markers have been located to prove it. JD requested to move him there, instead of the former non-cemetery burial.

Thirteen years later, on 13 Feb 1799, widow Wilhelmina (Powell) Whittington gifted her part of 50 acres of "Gowry Banks" to son Benjamin Whittington, in Anne Arundel Co. It was inherited from her grandfather, William Powell (30 Jun 1698 will, "purchased 300 acres 1678 for 7000 lbs of tobacco") to her father John. Good family details in deed. She signed her name with a mark, AA Deed, book ?, page 282-284. (thanks KW).
