Jessie Lee Hayes Whitaker, 97, a resident of Fayetteville, and a retired school teacher, died Thursday (May 25, 1995) at Donalson Care Center. A Lincoln County native and daughter of the late Adella Templeton and Robert Garlane Hayes, she was a member of Coldwater Methodist Church. Mrs. Whitaker is survived by a stepson, Dan P. Whitaker of Lewisburg; a stepdaughter, Helen W. Raby of Jacksonville, Florida; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Friday at Higgins Funeral Home with the Rev. Claud Hunsucker, Jr. officiating. Burial followed in Rose Hill Cemetery. Higgins Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
