of Logan, died Wednesday mor~
ning, May 8, in Community Me~
morial hospital, Missouri Val~
ley, where he had been a pa~
tient for two weeks.
Funeral arrangements are in
charge of Schumacher funeral
home, Logan.
Services will be held in the
Christian Church in Logan at
2 p.m., Friday with the Rev.
Robert Evans officiating. Inter~
ment will be ml Rose Hill Me~
morial Gardens, Missouri Vail~
ley.
Mr. Weed was a retired farm~
er.
He was born March 7, 1879 at
Morrison, Ill. He resided in Har~
rison county, Iowa for about 86
years.
His wife, Gertrude, died in
1943.
Mr. Weed is survived by two
daughters, Mrs. Flossie Good of
Missouri Valley and Mrs. Ruth
Adams of Woodbine; three sons,
George of Logan, Harold of Ta~
coma, Wash., and Kenneth
Weed of Phoenix, ; Ariz.; 15
grandchildren; 18 great~grand~
children; one sister, Mrs. Ada
Jones of San Jose, Cal.; and two
brothers, Roy of Danville, Cal.,
and Arthur Weed of Missouri
Valley.

Funeral services were held
Friday, May 10, from the Logan
Christian Church for Albert
James Weed who passed away
at the Missouri Valley Memor~
ial Hospital May 8, at the age
of 89 years.
Rev. Robert H. Evans offic~
iated at the services. Music was
furnished by Mrs. Ed Logan and
Mrs. Max Foutch, accompanied
by Miss Vicki Leonard, all of
Logan. Bearers were Carl Bur~
bridge, Norman Jensen. Nels
Jacobsen and Ed Chappell of
Logan and C. S. King and Ray
Houston of Woodbine. Inter~
ment was in the Rose Hill Mem~
orial Gardens of Missouri Valley.
Albert James Weed was the
son of George and Jennie Bor~
land Weed and was born March
7, 1879 at Morrison, Illinois. He
moved with his parents to Har~
rison County at the age of three
and lived there the remainder
of his life.
He was united in marriage to
Gertrude Mable Kohl on Febru~
ary 27, 1909 at Council Bluffs.
To this union four daughters
and three sons were born. They
farmed in Harrison County until
his retirement in 1959. His wife
preceded him in death in 1943,
also two daughters, Bernice and
Mrs. LaVerne Freymuller.
He leaves two daughters, Flos~
sie Good of Missouri Valley and
Ruth Adams of Woodbine; three
sons, George of Logan, Harold
of Seattle, Wash; and Kenneth
of Phoenix, Ariz.; 45 grandchil~
dren and 15 great grandchildren;
one sister, Ada Jones of San
Jose, Calif.; and two brothers
Roy of Danville, Calif. and Ar~
thur of Missouri Valley; as well
as a host of other relatives and
friends.
