PEARL UNMACK
Mrs. Pearl Adeline Unmack,
78, of Missouri Valley, a former
long~time resident of the Mag~
nolia vicinity, died Sunday
morning, Jan. 16 at Immanuel
hospital in Omaha where the
had been a patient since Dec.
26.
Services were held at 2
p. m., Wednesday at the Metho~
dist church in Magnolia with
the Rev. Joseph Mason officiat~
ing. Burial was in Magnolia
cemetery.
The deceased was born Nov.
14, 1887 in Shelby county, Iowa
Her parents were George and
Susan Bittle Kohl.
When the was quite young
she moved to Harrison county
and made her home around Lo~
gan. She was the youngest of a
family of nine children and
she lost her parents when she
was 12 years of age.
She continued to live in the
Logan area until she was mar~
ned to William Henry Unmack
of Magnolia on Aug. 28, 1907.
Mr. Unmack died March 14,
1953.
Seven Children
Five daughters and two sons
were born to this union. The
daughters are Mrs. Ernest
(Dorothy) Dix, Mrs. Gerald
(Gladys) Landon and Mrs. Al~
fred (Vera) Radtke, all of Mis~
souri Valley, Mrs. Nich~
olas (Miriam) Cates of Logan
and Mrs. Frances (Ellen) Wyatt
of Omaha. The sons are Floyd
and Roy Unmack of Missouri
Valley.
Mrs. Unmack lived in and
around Magnolia for 55 years.
Due to poor health she moved
to Missouri Valley in 1964.
She became a member of the
Christian church in Logan when
she was a girl. After her mar~
riage, she became a member of
the Methodist church of Mag~
nolia. She had been a member
of the Ladies Aid and Women's
Society of Christian Service for
40 years.
On Christmas day she be~
came seriously ill at the home
of her daughter, Mrs. Wyatt,
in Omaha. She was taken to the
hospital the next day.
Her five sisters and three
brothers preceded her in death.
In addition to her seven child~
ren she is survived by 18 grand~
children, 24 great~grandchildren
and many nieces and nephews.
