Services for Mrs. Carrie P. Pierce, 75, R.R. 3, Shelbyville, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Carmony Funeral Home. She died at 10:30 p.m. Sunday at Major Hospital where she had been a patient for one week. Mrs. Pierce had been in failing health for several weeks. Burial will be in Miller Cemetery and the Rev. Mrs. Helen Hager will officiate at the services. Friends may call at the funeral from 4 to 9 p.m. today. Mrs. Pierce was a former insurance saleswoman. She lived in Shelby County
since 1925. Born April 12, 1903, in Clinton County, a dsughter of Jerry and Charlotte I.(Crosman)Poe, she was
married May 31, 1922 to Thomas N. Pierce, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Thomas Leroy Pierce, Fort Pierce,
Fla.; a brother, Art Poe, Indianapolis, and three grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. A daughter, Leona Kathern Scott, died June 13, 1968. Two brothers and two sisters also preceded in death.
