John C. Pfister
CHILTON – John C. Pfister, 83, prominent citizen of the town of Charlestown, died of heart disease Friday night at his home in the village of Hayton.
Born in Charlestown, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Pfister, April 12, 1855, he operated a farm there until 1919, when he moved to Hayton, where he resided since.
He married Miss Agnes Heisdorf, Oct. 18, 1881, in Chilton, who died in October 1889. Mr. Pfister then married Miss Maria Woelfel, June 23, 1891 at St. Martin's church, town of Charlestown. He was for many years town chairman and chairman of the county board of supervisors. He was a charter member of the Catholic Knights of Wisconsin and the Holy Name society of St. Martin's church. At his death he was president of the New Holstein Mutual Fire Insurance Company.
Survivors are his widow, one daughter, Louise, at home. Another daughter, Helen died in infancy. Funeral services will be at the residence and at St. Martin's church, the Rev. Beatus Baur officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
