Magdalen "Maggie" Carter, 81, of Big Spring died Saturday June 29, 2013 at Scenic Mountain Medical Center. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM Monday at Myers & Smith Funeral Home, followed by a vigil service at 7:00 P.M. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish. Burial will be at Trinity Memorial Park.
She was born July 10, 1931 to Petranella and Stanley Wollney in Kosciusko, Texas. She married Robert H. "Ace" Carter, Jr. June 13, 1953 in San Antonio and moved to Big Spring in 1953. She was a homemaker and also worked for an insurance company and Woolsworth in San Antonio. She later worked at the Airport Grocery in Big Spring.
She is survived by her husband Robert "Ace" Carter, Jr. of Big Spring; three sons: Ron Carter and fiancée Debbie of San Antonio, William (Bill) Carter and Jeff Carter, both of Big Spring; one daughter Cheryl Joy and husband Frank of Big Spring; seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.
