George Andrews was the son of Mark Andrews of Dinwiddie County, VA. He was born presumably there July 6, 1765; and died in Williamson County, TN July 4, 1842. His wife, Sally P Andrews, was born December 26, 1777, and died September 11, 1835. George Andrews' will was dated June 9, 1842, and probated during the August 1842 term of court.

John Andrews declared:
He further states that Alexander Lester [pension application S4538] served with him in the first Campaign but in a different regiment and that George Andrews knows of his having been substitute for his father in the first campaign and that he was drafted and marched with the troops as is in this declaration stated the second campaign.

George Andrews of Williamson Co., Tenn., aged 68, declares he knows John Andrews was a substitute for his father Mark Andrews and a few days after he returned home was drafted as a militia man.

In the name of God, Amen, I George Andrews, Sr. of the County of Williamson and State of Tennessee being of sound and disposing mind and memory do make and ordain this my last will and testament.

After the payment of my just debts, and the necessary attending the execution of this my last will and testament the residue of my property or estate I dispose of as follows, to wit:

Item Having made the following advancements to my children, to wit, to Mark L. Andrews, a tract of land of One hundred which cost me three thousand dollars – to Elizabeth H. Andrews a negro girl named Addaline – To Sally P. Andrews a negro girl named Missey and to Mariah A. Andrews a negro girl named Addatuir, and to John T. Andrews land to the amount of three hundred dollars - each of which advancements I value to the sum of three hundred dollars as to make my other children equal to them, I give to my daughter Parmelia Andrews a negro girl named Celia, to be managed and controlled as hereafter directed. To my sons E. B. Andrews and B.B. Andrews the sum of three hundred dollars each, to be paid unto them before a final division of my estate.

Item I give and bequeath unto my grand children Gustavius A. Andrews and Sarah A. Andrews, Children of Richard L. Andrews deceased a negro woman named Lotty and her child – which together with what I have heretofore done for him will in my estimation be an equal portion of my estate.

Item I will that the balance of my estate after carrying out my intention expressed within forgoing items, be equally divided between my children Mark L, Ephraim B., Parmelia, Elizabeth H., Sally P., John T., Brockenbourgh B and Mariah A. Andrews.

Item I will that the girl which I give unto my daughter Parmelia and whatever other portion she may obtain from my estate at the division thereof, shall remain in the hands of my executors hereinafter named and I do appoint them as trustees to receive and manage the same and apply the same to her use and benefit, and as far as they can to her satisfaction, and at her death that the same returned to the estate to be divided according to the proceeding items,
Item I nominate and appoint my sons Ephraim B. Andrews and Brockenbrough B. Andrews the executors to this mu last will and testament and to execute the trust contained therein.

In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 9th day of June A.D. 1842.

In the name of God, Amen, I George Andrews, Sr. of the County of Williamson and State of Tennessee being of sound and disposing mind and memory do make and ordain this my last will and testament.

After the payment of my just debts, and the necessary attending the execution of this my last will and testament the residue of my property or estate I dispose of as follows, to wit:

Item Having made the following advancements to my children, to wit, to Mark L. Andrews, a tract of land of One hundred which cost me three thousand dollars – to Elizabeth H. Andrews a negro girl named Addaline – To Sally P. Andrews a negro girl named Missey and to Mariah A. Andrews a negro girl named Addatuir, and to John T. Andrews land to the amount of three hundred dollars - each of which advancements I value to the sum of three hundred dollars as to make my other children equal to them, I give to my daughter Parmelia Andrews a negro girl named Celia, to be managed and controlled as hereafter directed. To my sons E. B. Andrews and B.B. Andrews the sum of three hundred dollars each, to be paid unto them before a final division of my estate.

Item I give and bequeath unto my grand children Gustavius A. Andrews and Sarah A. Andrews, Children of Richard L. Andrews deceased a negro woman named Lotty and her child – which together with what I have heretofore done for him will in my estimation be an equal portion of my estate.

Item I will that the balance of my estate after carrying out my intention expressed within forgoing items, be equally divided between my children Mark L, Ephraim B., Parmelia, Elizabeth H., Sally P., John T., Brockenbourgh B and Mariah A. Andrews.

Item I will that the girl which I give unto my daughter Parmelia and whatever other portion she may obtain from my estate at the division thereof, shall remain in the hands of my executors hereinafter named and I do appoint them as trustees to receive and manage the same and apply the same to her use and benefit, and as far as they can to her satisfaction, and at her death that the same returned to the estate to be divided according to the proceeding items,
Item I nominate and appoint my sons Ephraim B. Andrews and Brockenbrough B. Andrews the executors to this mu last will and testament and to execute the trust contained therein.

In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 9th day of June A.D. 1842.
