Guerilla fighter during Civil War. Wetzel was probably not a regular member of Quantrill's Raiders. He is not listed on the official roster recovered by the Union Army in 1862. It is possible he was a guerrilla fighter only in Missouri or he only joined in raids when Quantrill was in the area.
