US Marine CPL Kenneth Ray Bradley, Vietnam Veteran, Born in Tryon, Polk County, NC, he later became a resident of Green Creek, Polk County, NC.

US Marine CPL Kenneth Ray Bradley was a casualty of the Vietnam War. As a member of the Marines, CPL Bradley served our country until February 6th, 1968 in Quang Nam, South Vietnam. He was 22 years old and was married. It was reported that He was killed by small arms fire as he was dismounting from his tank. He was born in Tryon, North Carolina, on March 31st, 1945. His body was recovered. CPL Bradley is on panel 37E, line 049 of the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington D.C. He served our country for more than one year. He was living in the Green Creek, NC when he enlisted in Raleigh, NC September 1966.

He was the Husband of Mrs Janice C.Wilkie Bradley,of Oxford, NC. He is the Son of the Late Mr William Marion Bradley and Mrs Ruby Lee Phillips Bradley, 211 Ward Street, Tryon, NC 28782.He was the brother of nine siblings; Helen Elizabeth Champion, William Ernest Bradley, Manuel Austin Bradley, Shirley Patricia Foster(1937-2014), Frank Norris Bradley,Dean Dwight Bradley, Barbara Jean Wilson, Glenda Kay Burnette Ravan, and Charles Edward Bradley.

CPL Kenneth Ray Bradley served as a Corporal with Bravo Company, 1st Tank Battalion, 1st Marine Division, III Marine Amphibious Forces. United States Marine Corps, Vietnam.

He was awarded The Combat Action Ribbon(CAR), The Purple Heart Medal for his combat wounds, The National Defense Service Medal, The Rifle Sharpshooter Badge, The Vietnam Service Medal, The Vietnamese Civil Action Medal, The Vietnam Campaign Medal and The Vietnamese Gallantry Cross Unit Citation. He is also a member of the National Purple Heart Hall of Honor and The Vietnam Veterans Memorial.
