Marjorie "Ruth" Davison, 89, of Keokuk, IA died Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at her home. She was born December 10, 1923 in Keokuk the daughter of John Joseph and Mary Caroline Kirkpatrick Donnelly. She was first united in marriage to James Darvin Gates. He preceded her in death in 1980. She later married James William Davison and he preceded her in death.

Ruth was a lifelong resident of Keokuk and graduated from Keokuk High School.

During WWII Ruth had worked as a Women's Ordnance Worker for two years. She later worked for Sheller Globe in Keokuk for forty years.

She was a lifetime member of the First Christian Church of Disciples of Christ in Keokuk, where she served as a Sunday school teacher, Bible Study Leader and an Elder.

Ruth loved photography and took many photographs.

She is survived by one daughter, Diana Lynn Büsst of Huntington Beach, CA, two sons, Steven James Gates of Keokuk and Randy William Davison of Broken Arrow, OK, one sister, Dorothy White of Issaquah, WA, one brother, Robert Myron Donnelly of Bixby, OK, one sister-in-law, Betty Rose Wilsey of Keokuk, two grandchildren, Daniel Nathan Shaw of Long Beach, CA and Nicole Lynn Davison Jones of Tulsa, OK, two great-grandchildren, Angelina Joy Shaw and Christian Epedio Shaw both of Long Beach, CA, five nieces, Linn Ball of OK, Kay Staeger of WA, Laura Hemly of MD, Denise Hamburger of OK, and Jan Wilsey of Keokuk, IA and four nephews, William Donnelly of OK, Brendan Donnelly of HI, Robert Wilsey of Keokuk and Charles Reeves of Keokuk.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Joe Donnelly and David Lee Donnelly and one sister, Betty Jean Donnelly.

Memorial services were held at 3:30 p.m., Friday, June 28th, 2013 at the First Christian Church of Keokuk with Reverend David Turner officiating.

There was no visitation. Ruth donated her body to the Anatomy Department of The University of Iowa for medical research.
