Mett Bragg, 86, of Panama City Passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2013. Mr. Bragg was born August 26, 1927 in Perkins, GA. He worked for Shell Oil Company in marketing and distribution for 25 years before his retirement in 1981 from the Panama City plant. Mr. Bragg was a member of Hiland Park Baptist Church for over 60 years. He loved working in his garden and all outdoor activities. His greatest love was his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Ruby Bragg; two sisters, Doris Hesters, Alice Murphy; and a brother, Wesley Bragg.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Ruth Etheridge Bragg; two daughters, Sandra Bragg of McAlester, OK, Cathy Bernhardt of Panama City, FL; a brother-in-law, Archie Hesters; his grandchildren, Renee Cumbie and husband, Andy, Michelle Broadway and husband Randy; great grandchildren, Chris Cumbie and wife Michell, Justin Cumbie, Kiley Broadway, Marcus Broadway, Abigayle Broadway and one great great grandchild, Cole Cumbie.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Friday, July 5, 2013 at Southerland Family Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Covenant Hospice or Hiland Park Baptist Church.
