Mrs. Bessie Gehrke

Age 87, died unexpectedly Saturday morning. She was born Dec. 8, 1890, in the Town of Little Wolf. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and was the last charter member of the Ladies Aid. Her first husband, Leo Zemple, died in 1914 and in 1918 she married Albert Gehrke, who also preceded her in death. She lived in the Manawa area her entire life. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Lucille Jorgensen of Weyauwega; two sons, Malvern Zemple, route 3, New London, and Keith Gehrke, route 1, Manawa; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Manawa, with the Rev. Carl Luedtke officiating. Burial will be in the Little Wolf Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cline Hanson Dahlke Funeral Home after 4 p.m. Sunday and until 11 a.m. Monday and at the church until the time of service.
