Mrs. Eleanor Agnes Miller
" Rites for Mrs. Eleanor Agnes Miller, 81-year-old native of Del Rio, will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where she had been organist for 70 years. She began playing when she was 11 years old.
Burial will be made in Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of the Humphreys - Doran Funeral Home.
The Rosary will be recited tonight at 7 o'clock in the chapel of the funeral home.
Mrs Miller was born Oct. 15, 1900, in Del Rio, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward S. Harrison.
She died Monday in her home at the Mimosa Apartments.
She was a charter member of the Del Rio Music Club, which was organized in 1922, and she continued to be an active member until her death. She appeared on programs regularly and in November, 1981, she was accompanist for a guest artist soloist. In October that year she was honored as a charter member of the club, along with Mrs. J.V. Drisdale, also a charter member. Mrs. Miller taught music, with many residents as her students over the years.
Survivors are three sisters, Marie Hilt and Anita Calvin of San Antonio and Edith Lackner of Brownsville; two brothers Jack Harrison and Dallas and Frank Harrison of Hunt, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Tom Swinson, Richard Callahan, J. Dobbins, John R. Foster, D.A. Herrington and Jimmy Sellers. "
