A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, July 11, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Iota for Steven Wade "Steve" Bellon, 56, who died Monday, July 8, 2013 at 9:10 a.m. in Iota surrounded by his loving family.
Steve was a lifelong resident of Iota. He was a truck driver for many years with Dupre' Transport and Talen's Marine and Fuel before going to work at Shetler-Corley Ford in Crowley.
Fr. Jude Thierry, Pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church, will officiate for the services. The family requests visiting hours Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. A rosary will be recited Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Steve is survived by his wife of 32 years, Annette LeJeune Bellon of Iota; one daughter, Megan Bellon of Iota; one son, Brett W. Bellon and his wife Kortnie of Iota; his parents, Kenny and Lula L. Bellon of Iota; four brothers, Wendell Bellon of Lafayette, Shelby and his wife Vickie of Iota, James and Shane Bellon all of Iota; one godchild, Kaleb Klumpp; his father-in-law, Charles LeJeune of Iota.
The family wishes to thank the Shetler-Corley family, Louisiana Hospice, Dr. Chad Vincent, Dr. Michael Holland, Dr. Ben Sabbaghian, Dr. Leo De Alvare, Jennings Rehab Hospital and the A. L. S. Foundation of Louisiana for their care and support to Steve and his family during these last few months.
