Ansel Griffin, 75, Tallmadge, Ohio, and formerly of Eubank, died suddenly Thursday, May 15, at St. Thomas Hospital, Akron. Born Aug. 6, 1899 in Pulaski County, he was a son of Virgil and Samantha York Griffin, who preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, the former Odessa Correll, whom he married October 27, 1922 in Cleveland, Ohio. He is survived by daughter Mrs. Jean Hartz, of Tallmadge, with whom he and Mrs. Griffin made their home since October, 1974. He is also survived by granddaughters Darla Shell and Janet Knight; and great-grandsons, Chuck and Joey Shell.

He was the first of the 10 Griffin siblings to die, leaving four brothers, Jim, Mitchell, Jesse and Roy of the Eubank and Estesburg communities; five sisters, Mrs. Bertha Suttle and Mrs. Nora Eubanks, of Estesburg, Mrs. Mattie Back Flynn and Mrs. Lela Floyd of Somerset, and Mrs. Maggie Reynolds, Covington; also many loving nieces and nephews.

After working more than 25 years for the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, Akron, Ohio, he returned to Eubank where he was a farmer for 30 years. He served as secretary for the Lincoln-Pulaski Counties Graded Milk Producers Association and served on the Board of Directors for Soil Conversation at the University of Kentucky.

A dedicated Christian, he was a member of churches in OH and a member and Elder of the Estesburg Church of Christ for many years.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 18, at Pulaski Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Wright officiating.
