Leone was born on November 7, 1888 in Bedford Co. TN. on her parent's farm located just outside the township of Bellbuckle and next to her Grandparents, William and Nannie Muse. She was the oldest daughter of eight other siblings. She was educated at the local school graduating high school then attending the Normal School receiving her teaching credentials. Her first teaching job was at the very High School she graduated from. She taught there for many years and by 1920 she had made a change in occupation and became a private teacher of art. Eventually she move to Atlanta in the late 1920's where she joined the faculty of O'Keffee Junior High School in Atlanta as an Art Teacher and after 10 years became the head of the Art Department. This Junior High School still stands in at Atlanta today as part of the Georgia Tech Campus. It was transformed into student housing used today. 

It was in Atlanta Leone met and married on 4 March 1938 Joel Edmond Mann who was in advertising. However, somewhere along the way they separated and went their own way. Leone Paty Mann made a career as a teacher. She eventually moved back to Tennessee with her last residence in Nashville before she passed away.
