America was the daughter of Franklin and Jane Combs Anderson. America married Squire Combs at the home of James Williams in the presence of James B. Gay & Russel L. Gay by the J. W. Baker, Justice of the Peace, Owsley County, KY.

After the deaths of Squire and America, their daughter Isabelle became the ward of William Parker. In an affidavit by Anderson Taylor and Preston Hill, they state that America passed away in November 1907 and "boath buried in the same burying Ground near each other."
