Alma Horton Baker, 71, of 108 Neuse Harbor Drive, passed away Sunday July 24, 2011. Alma was born in Oxford, NC, Granville County on October 2, 1939 to the late Lawrence Darious Horton and Cindy Kathleen Richardson Horton. Alma retired with 16 years of service from N.C. State Government at the Dorothea Dix Campus with the GED program of Wake Tech. She was married to the late Charles Thomas Baker, who preceded her in death on November 16, 1986. Alma was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and a faithful friend to many.
Funeral Service: 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC 27545.
Burial: Wake Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery, 3329 Forestville Road, Raleigh, NC.
Surviving: daughter of Cedar Point; son of Knightdale; 2 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson.
In addition to her parents and husband, Alma was recently preceded in death by her sister, the late Inez H. Lanier of Creedmoor.
