Mrs. Durr taught first grade at Winnsboro Elementary School. After her retirement from that position, she taught at Franklin Academy. She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church in Winnsboro.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, J.H. Durr and by a son, Thomas Anthony Durr.

Survivors include two daughters, Mary Stodghill and her husband, T.W. Stodghill, Jr. of Monroe; Judy Blackmon and her husband, Donald J. Blackmon of Gilbert; one son, Jim H. Durr and wife Sandra of Pensacola, FL; one sister, Beulah Davis of Bossier City; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
