Virginia Lee Arnold DeLay, 62, died April 23, 1989 in the Little Rock Air Force Base Hospital at Jacksonville, Ark.
Daughter of the late Robert Lee and Josie Pearl Thomas Arnold, she was born April 15, 1927 in Crockett County, Tenn.
A member of the Braggadocio (Mo.) Baptist Church, she was a homemaker.
On October 10, 1963 at the Blytheville AFB Chapel, Ark., she married John A. DeLay.
One son, Gerald Wayne Mathis, and a daughter, Linda Mathis Greer, preceded her in death.
She leaves her husband, John A. DeLay, of Jacksonville; two sons: James Ronald Mathis and Johnny Lee Mathis, both of Little Rock, Ark.; three brothers: Doyle Arnold of Tuscumbia, Ala., Billy Arnold of Wichita, Kansas, and Harold Arnold of Demopolis, Ala.; two sisters: Frances Brock of Braggadocio and Betty Guziak of Little Rock; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 26, 1989, at 2:00 p.m. at Bradshaw German-Aumon Chapel in Steele, Mo., with Rev. Bill Luttrell officiating. Burial was at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Steele, with Bradshaw German-Aumon Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Mike Arnold, Jimmy Arnold, Ron Pennington, Bill Hare, Dick Arnold, and John Guziak.
