Mrs. Josie Pearl Arnold of Steele Route 2, died April 24, 1965 at the Millington Naval Hospital, Millington, Tenn.
Mrs. Arnold was born in Tennessee on September 3, 1898, and had lived in this community for 25 years.
Services were April 27 at First Baptist Church in Steele, Rev. James F. McCrary officiating, assisted by Rev. A.C. Gardner. Burial was at Mount Zion Cemetery, German Funeral Home in charge.
Pallbearers were Reginald Watkins, Robert Cornatzer, Houston Copher, Marshall Thomas, Aaron Inman, and Connie Frame.
She leaves four sons: Thomas Arnold of New Haven, Mo.; Doyle Arnold of Tuscumbia, Ala.; Harold Arnold of Stillwater, Okla.; and Billy Arnold of Blytheville Air Force Base. She also leaves three daughters: Mrs. Frances Brock of Steele; Mrs. Virginia DeLay of Steele; Mrs. Betty Cole of Pacoima, Calif.; 24 grandchildren; five brothers: Sam Thomas of Memphis; John Thomas of Long Beach, Calif.; Jim Thomas of California; Chester Thomas of Chicago; and Bob Thomas of St. Louis.
