Alan K. Baum , 78, of 109 Old Lyme Road, DeWitt, died Monday at home.
Born in Syracuse, he was a 1940 graduate of Nottingham High School and a 1944 graduate of Syracuse University. He retired in 1984 as owner of American Monorail Syracuse Corp., Syracuse. He was a member of Central City Lodge 305, F&AM, Syracuse Kiwanis Club, the University Club, Theta Tau engineering honorary fraternity and Phi Gamma Delta fraternity. He was a member of Drumlins Country Club and Miles Grant Country Club in Stuart, Fla. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors: His wife, the former Lorna Jean Lane; a daughter, Laurie B. Blefeld of Mystic, Conn.; two sons, Paul F. of Atlanta, Ga., and Daniel S. of Fayetteville; a sister, Martha B. Heape of Syracuse; 10 grandchildren.
Services: 10 a.m. Thursday in Rockefeller United Methodist Church. Private burial, Oakwood Morningside Cemetery, Syracuse. No calling hours. Lansing Funeral Home, Lansing, has arrangements.
