Elizabeth devoted her life to the loving care of her family. As well, she worked as a nurse's aide and was actively involved in managing the family's clothing shops. In recent years, Elizabeth was especially proud of her work supporting research at Jackson Laboratory and made lasting friendships while there. Elizabeth was a life-long learner, a voracious reader and always enjoyed a good puzzle. Elizabeth filled her home with a vast collection of books and mementos, each with a rich history and story of their own.
Elizabeth is survived by her devoted husband of 40 years, Gary; and her children, Karen Walsh and husband, Joe, Janet Denike and husband, Rob, Brian Adler and wife, Cynthia, and Brent Adler. She was predeceased by a son, David; and her parents, Kenneth and Sylvia White. Elizabeth leaves behind seven grandchildren, Sam Walsh, Megan, Claire and Timothy Moore, and Daisy, Anna and Emma Denike; a brother, Everett, his wife Ann, and their children.
Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, July 27, at Ledgelawn Cemetery, Bar Harbor. In lieu of flowers, donations in Elizabeth's memory may be made to Robert and Mary's Place, P.O. Box 1533, Ellsworth, ME 04605, a caring place for those with memory loss. Arrangements by Jordan-Fernald, 1139 Main St., Mount Desert. Condolences may be expressed at www.jordanfernald.com.
