Joanna (Gierla) Chmiel passed away Monday, July 18, 2005, in Scranton, Pa. She was 63.
Born in Jersey City, she resided in Bayonne before moving to East Brunswick in 1973. She was a communicant of St. Bartholomew's R.C. Church in East Brunswick. She was predeceased by her brother, Thomas Gierla. Surviving are her husband, Francis Chmiel; four daughters, Eleanor Schaff and Deborah Chmiel, both of East Brunswick, Karen McKinney of Platsburgh, N.Y., and Janice Pfuhl of Long Island, N.Y.; her brother, Walter Gierla of Mountainside; and her six grandchildren, Morgan, Mark, Joanna, Benjamin, Nichole and William.
