Richard Babcock, 61, formerly of Muncie and more recently of New Castle, died Thursday in Community Hospital, Anderson, after an illness of several weeks.

He graduated from Central High School and was an Air Corps veteran of World War II. He was staff dentist at New Castle State Hospital before retiring. He attended Ball State University and graduated from Indiana University School of Business and The Ohio State University School of Dentistry.

Mr. Babcock was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Parish, New Castle, and of the American Dental Association, Indiana State Dental Association and East Central Indiana Dental Society.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Meeks Mortuary. Entombment will be in Elm Ridge Mausoleum. Calling hours at the mortuary are 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday.
